Alice the alien

Alice the Alien

.

Once upon a time, long long ago there lived an alien named Alice. Alice is a kind and respectful alien. Every night Alice goes to earth and she gets greeted by unpleasant humans, when all she wants to do is help the kids fall asleep and let them have awesome dreams. Alice doesn't try to hurt anybody because she is a delightful alien.

She isn’t like all the other mean aliens.

Alice gets bored from sitting on the moon waiting for the sun to go down. In the meantime she makes up some ideas of wonderful dreams for her to put in each sleeping kid’s heads. Every time Alice is on the moon she wonders what's going on on earth when she comes back to the moon all she wants to do is go back to Earth.

Later that day, Alice went to earth. However, because of the fact that it was raining, she had to return home. When the humans found that Alice hadn’t arrived they figured it was because of the rain. The humans wondered why the alien hadn’t shown up, it was very odd.

The next day when Alice showed up the Humans went into hiding, they thought her behaviour was suspicious, so they decided to hide and watch her. When Alice got out of the space-craft, she was very careful. Alice was avoiding the drying water. The Humans watched the alien carefully climb and tumble around the dry grassy areas.

After Alice’s job down on earth was completed, she returned home. The humans discussed what her behaviors were signs of. Some thought she had gone mad, while others had crazier ideas. But after careful-consideration, they came to conclude that water was Alice’s criptionite. They hatched an evil plan and laughed maniacally.

The humans decided that they would capture the alien. They decided to set up a plan to trap her, the plan was to put water all around the space-craft lands. Because she always lands in one specific spot.

After they agreed on their plan they went to their positions and waited and waited. They all were excited about their plan. They quietly sat there and waited for the alien space-craft to land.

When Alice landed her space-craft she opened the door and she saw  water, she felt like vomiting but she strongly held it in. She didn't want to go down because Alice was surrounded by water, there were no dry spots. Finally the humans found out what her criptionite was. The humans wonder what would happen if she touched water or if she swallowed water. The humans also wanted to know what they did because they found out what her criptionite was. The humans still didn't know if it was just that or if there's more they desire to know the answers to.

After a lot of thinking they had a really long chat about it. They didn't think it right to be mean to the alien. Because the alien didn't do anything to them and they were just being mean to the poor little alien. Alice didn't like it but she tried not to say anything about it or the other aliens would get really mad and the humans would get hurt which she didn’t like at all.

The aliens decided that they would tell the humans to stop being mean to other aliens because some of the humans started feeling sad for Alice. Finally to settle down they had a little vote. The two things that you could vote for was should we stop being mean or should we be mean.

Finally everyone voted and guess what everybody was happy because vote A lost and vote B won. After everyone decided to be kind they had a part. They also invited Alice the alien. They had a space and earth alien.

Response to Article

Title of Article: Rising Seas

Author of Article: Kate Potter

Link to Article: Rising Seas

What was the article about? Write a 30 word summary of the article.

This article has taught me a lot of things, like the oceans cover almost three quarters of the planet’s surface and contain 97 percent of the water on Earth. This article has taught me about the breakwater, it is a barrier designed to protect the cost from all the sea damage done. I have read that a house in Ngawi will soon be destroyed due to coastal erosion,  at the southern tip of the North Island, and this article has told why the sea level dropped in 2010 and 2011, and the reason was because Australia soaked up a lot of the water that usually would have fallen in the oceans.

What do you think the author’s purpose for writing this article was?

I think that the reason the author wrote this  article was because they wanted to tell people how dangerous rising seas are to the world. ;D

Erosion

Erosion is the wearing away of the land by forces such as water, wind, and ice.

Erosion has helped to form many interesting features of the Earth's surface including mountain peaks, valleys, and coastlines.

What are 4 important ideas you’ve got from the text?
  1. One idea I got from the text was changing to suit difference or new conditions.

  1. Another idea I got from the text was that rising sea levels are likely to affect life in New Zealand, with higher tides and larger waves causing erosion, flooding, and other damage.

  1. The third idea I got from the text was that global warming increases average temperatures around the world most probably caused by human activities.

  1. The fourth idea I got from the text was that the sea levels average heights of the surface of the seas.

Ramadan

.....
Today I'm going to be telling everyone about a little celebration that all Muslims had on the weekend. It's called Eid, but before we celebrate Eid, there is a celebration called ramadan. Eid is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims everywhere that marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan. Muslims celebrate Ramadan, because Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and heightened devotion and worship. Muslims believe that Ramadan teaches them to practice self-discipline, self-control, sacrifice, and empathy for those who are less fortunate, and many other thing too, thus encouraging actions of generosity and compulsory charity (zakat).

How I Feel About Pollution

What is pollution? Have you ever wondered what pollution is really about, well now you know, pollution develops harmful materials into the environment. Pollutants can be natural, such as volcanic ash. They can also be created by human activity, such as trash or runoff produced by factories. Pollutants damage the condition of air, water, and land.

About Pollution

What happens if humans don’t stop polluting the world?

I think that pollution has to be stopped because according to environmental scientists, if pollution is not controlled, by 2030 the air will become so poisonous that it will be required to use an oxygen kit to breathe without doubt. Rising air pollution will also lead to premature aging. Human exposure to air toxins will expand to a great extent if air pollution is not controlled, so that is why humans need to start controlling pollution in the world. SAVE THE WORLD!!!

How can pollution bring Earth closer to its end?

Did you know that pollution can bring earth to its end, because pollution may muddy landscapes, poison soils and waterways, or kill plants and animals. Long-term exposure to air pollution, it can lead to chronic respiratory illness, lung cancer and other illnesses too. Toxic chemicals that accumulate in top predators can make some species unsafe to eat.

Pollution kills Earth

Why is pollution bad for animals?

I think that pollution is the worst thing for animals because many heavy metals, toxics, persistent organic pollutants and other air pollutants affect wildlife by setting foot in the food chain and damaging the supply and condition of food. Once devoured, many of these pollutants collect and are stored within the animal's tissues.

Why is air pollution bad?

One reason pollution is bad is because pollution can also infect the air we breathe. These particles and gases can come from all sorts of things, of example car and truck exhaust, factories, dust, pollen, mold spores, volcanoes, wildfires and much more. Air pollution is harmful to human health and also can harm our pets and wildlife. Did you know that air pollution is caused by formation of acid rain, which raises a measure of acidity in rivers and streams and destroys plants and trees, which help us breathe.

Earth's Atmosphere

This term, team 4 is leaning about  Earth and space. I can’t wait to fill my brain

with amazing thing. I am very fascinated by all the thing I have learned already.

Troposphere: The Troposphere is between 5 and 9 miles (8 and 14 kilometers) thick depending on where you are on Earth. It's thinnest at the North and South Pole

Stratosphere: The Stratosphere is one of the layers of the atmosphere of the planet Earth. It extends from about 8 km above the poles (18 km above the equator) to about 50 km. In the Stratosphere, the temperature rises with increasing height.

Mesosphere: The Mesosphere is the third and coldest layer of Earth's atmosphere, reaching about 130 degrees below zero. The Mesosphere is also where most meteors, or space rocks and metal, burn up before they can crash to the ground.

Atmosphere: This layer of Earth's Atmosphere is about 319 miles (513 kilometers) thick. That's much thicker than the inner layers of the Atmosphere, but not nearly as thick as the Exosphere.

Exosphere: The air in the Exosphere is very thin, and is made up mostly of helium, and hydrogen. Traces of other gases such as atomic oxygen and carbon dioxide can also be found. The upper level of the exosphere is the farthest point from earth that is still affected by earth's gravity.
