Girl's Day Out

Today my mum decided to drop my sisters and me to the mall because it is the school holiday, so we got ready and then we got in the car. After My mum dropped us off she went home. So she could get ready because we were going to see the matariki festival.

My sister Alisha asked us where we wanted to go first, Zaeeda said warehouse and I didn’t mind because me and Alisha needed to buy a chapstick. When we got there Zaeeda met her friend Coree, from school. So then Zaeeda and Coree went to the glassons and me and Alisha went to the warehouse.

When Alisha and I couldn’t find any chapstick we decided to go to Kmart. We looked for some clothes but there was nothing good. Then we went to the art and craft section and I found this aordable pen. It had four cute koalas in a stack with little faces on them.

Alisha said if I was good, she would buy it four me,  because it was only 5 dollars. A couple minutes later Alisha found a koala wallet. Then Alisha and I dieded that before we got picked up, she would buy me the koala pen and her the wallet.

But when we were about to leave, these two lady and 2 kids came running in and grabbed the last two pens , I was sad but then the lady told the girl that she couldn’t get it and I ran and grabbed the pen the one wallet, and went back to my sister and ask she if we could buy then now and she said yes.

We started getting thirsty so we went to Pak'nSave and brought a Monster for Alisha and a Pepsi for me. Then my sister asked if I wanted some Dunkin doughnuts, but I said no.

After that we went to the food court and called my sister Zaeeda, but she didn’t answer so we just texted her to meet us at typo in 20 minutes. 20 minutes later, Zaeeda and Coree came to typo, but then Coree had to go home with her sisters, so then Zaeeda came with us and we went and took pictures of the huge mushroom in front of the movie theatre.

Then we went upstairs and rested on the couch, for a bit. Finally we went to Danger Field, they had some new styles but not a lot so we left. Later on, we came downstairs and called our mum to come pick it up, because we were kinda getting bored, and we still had to go to the matariki festival. My mum answered the phone and said that they were on their way, so to kill some time we went to the Anime2you and waited until they got here.

When they finally got here, my mum handed me some jackes to put on because it was starting to get cold. When we got to the matariki festival it was very colourful and it looked like it took a long time to get all the lights up too. After having all the fun we went home and got ready for bed, we cuddled into some warm blankets and went to bed.

Tupu-ā-nuku is the eldest of Matariki’s daughters. She spends her time with Papatūānuku tending to the different growing plants. She pays special attention to making sure they have everything they need to grow big and strong so they can produce food medicine and clothing materials. When we see her shining we are reminded that we all have our own special time and place, and to spend time growing our strengths, our pūkenga, as well as that of our friends.

I am the youngest in the family, and I like to spend time with my parents. My favorite thing to do is grow flowers, vegetables and fruits in my garden. And when there is a big family gathering or special occasion, I always make sure that there is enough food for everyone to in joy. I also like to play and talk with my friends at school.
