Explanatory Writing About The Sun

What is the sun?

The sun is an enormous star in our solar system. The sun is the closest star to Earth. The sun is the source of all the heat and light that makes flowers bloom, trees to grow and other things too.

The Sun is a star which is located at the center of our solar system. It is a yellow dwarf star that gives off different types of energy such as infra-red energy, heat, ultraviolet light, radio waves and light. The Sun is about a hundred times as wide as the Earth.

How does the Sun’s energy affect life on Earth?

Energy from the sun affects humans a lot because we need the Sun to live. Nothing is more important to us on Earth than the Sun itself. Without the Sun's heat and light, the Earth would be a lifeless and extinct ball of ice coated rocks.

The Sun warms our seas, stirs our atmosphere, and generates our weather patterns. The sun also gives energy to the growing green plants that provide the food and oxygen for life on Earth. The sun also helps to grow and to provide food for the animals all over the world.

The sun is the reason that animals, plants and humans live on Earth. Because life wouldn't exist without the sun. It's also the center of our solar system and by far its largest object in our solar system.

How does the orbit of the sun create night and day?

The Earth is one of several planets that orbit the sun, and the moon orbits the Earth. The Earth is primarily a sphere and the sun is a nearby star which is an unbelievably large ball of gas that radiates light and heat as products of nuclear reactions.

The Earth orbits the sun once every 365 days and rotates about its axis once every 24 hours. Day and night are expected to the Earth rotating on its axis, not its orbiting around the sun. The term one day, is set on by the time the Earth takes to rotate once on its axis and includes both daytime and nighttime.
